1. Do I need to wash the hopper every time after use?
Yes, you do. After the pumping work is done, please do remember to clean the hopper to prevent concrete materials building up in the hopper. Accumulation of materials in the hopper is easy to cause the lower part of the S-tube valve to be worn out.
2. What should I do if I find that the wear ring is worn down? What if the wear problem arises at the welding joint?
Rotate the wear ring by 90 degree as soon as you notice the wear. This would double the use life of wear ring. When the filler metal of the wear ring is worn down but it still remains in the welding joint of the wear ring, users should remove the wear ring from the pump and send it through bead welding process. During the process, the 150 or 938 welding rod, also known as the filler metal, should be used.
3. What causes the early failure of the concrete pumping cylinder?
There are many factors that can contribute to the early failure of the cylinder such as poor lubrication and large co-axial deviation. Other causes include that users haven’t replaced pistons or changed cooling water regularly, they have used bad-quality pistons, or they haven’t changed the reduction sleeve in time after it is worn out.
4. What if there is clearance between the wear plate and wear ring?
a. Shut off the diesel engine or electric motor. Cut off the power supply to the pump. Release the pressure from the hydraulic accumulator.
b. Wash the hopper, and S-tube valve
c. Remove the bolt and guard plate. Tighten the nut and draw the S-valve towards the rear wall of the hopper to reduce the clearance between the wear plate and wear ring. After the adjustment, install the bolt and guard plate.
5. Why there is little concrete coming out from the discharge conduit?
a. The piston in the concrete pump is severely worn down.
b. Large clearance between the wear plate and wear ring.
c. Bad-quality concrete
d. The S-tube valve is blocked.
6. Can you list some major causes of pump blockage?
a. There is leakage of concrete from the pumping passage. The problem often arises between the wear plate and wear ring, cylinder outlet end and S-tube valve, the piston and the pipe, and two quick couplers.
b. Insufficient hydraulic system pressure
c. The bad-quality concrete can not be pumped.
d. There is air entrapped in the concrete.
